Splendid area home to magnificent natural beauty and long-standing culture.
The delicately chiselled Dentelles de Montmirail as seen from Mont Ventoux, Roman and Romanesque monuments, vineyards and olive groves, grown here since Roman times.
And Bacchus, who pervades the area, inviting us to wine and dine, and discover the markets, eternal forums for meeting and exchange …
BETWEEN VENTOUX
AND THE DENTELLES

TERROIR

This area is marked by the upward thrust of the Dentelles de Montmirail at the end of the Tertiary era.
This vertical movement brought two geological formations which were 200 million years apart in their creation – the Trias and the Oligocene corridor of Le Barroux – into proximity.
This twisted, tormented relief is due to the Nîmes fault, clearly visible near Entrechaux.
This fault created a chaotic, fractured landscape.
The reworked Trias soils, often full of colour (orangish, reddish-purple) are excellent for grape growing, and are the oldest in the Appellation.

GRAPE VARIETY

Grenache, which originated in Spain, is the main grape of the appellation.
It provides highly diverse expression depending on the terroir on which it is grown. Grenache has great potential for round, supple, fruity wines.
The spicy side of Grenache, associated with good alcohol strength and moderate acidity, adds up to robust wines that are sure to please.

TASTING

Tasting winea pleasure that is accessible to all - means stimulating all five senses. Our references go back to our experience, to tastes and smells memorized in childhood. Tasting involves all five senses, and your own overall impression is the most relevant and reliable way to characterise a wine.
