VINEYARDS AND LANDSCAPES

The «Comtat Terraces» are a geological formation of natural steps between plains and mountain. Several very different materials accumulated at the base of the hard limestone which forms Mont Ventoux, such as ochre sands («red mountain»), and gypsum («white rock») which formed the stepped hills called «Limon». Agricultural took over these natural geological formations. Vines were planted in the rich alluvium plains, and later shared the space with olive groves and cherry orchards. The ochre sand soils were taken over by silica-loving species such as maritime pine. The highest vines are planted at approximately 500 meters altitude. Terroir - Grape variety - Tasting
