To the south, Mont Ventoux tapers to an end along the slopes of the Monts de Vaucluse and the Roussillon hills.
From Gordes to the Provencal Colorado, plant and mineral life compose an uninterrupted symphony where grapevines add high notes of colour, of which wine is the reflection.

DISCOVERY ITINERARY

The Wine Road
The diverse countryside here imposes a loop circuit, which we recommend in order to truly savour the tastes and colours here.
One mountain base road, from Saint Pantaléon to Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt, boasts vineyards amidst a world of stone.
Hollowed-out stone (the Bouillons mill, the St Pantaléon necropolis), stone construction (stone walls, bories, the chateau at Saint-Saturnin-les-Apt), and natural rock – the great fault in Lioux, the ochre sites.
To the south, a balcony road overlooks the Calavon valley and the Luberon, taking us into the greatest ochre reserve in the world, between Goult, Roussillon and the Provencal Colorado in Rustrel.
Between Villars and Apt, the Sylla plain is like a well-tended garden.

The Vintner path Two vintner paths express the variety of sites and soils.
The Domaine de Tuilière is a chalky setting, with fossils from the Aptian layers, and lovely views.
In the Sylla plain, St Pons chateau proposes a stroll through its sloped vineyards, facing the green valley.
Enjoy a bike ride through the ochre country, on the picturesque winding country roads.

« “If you have no reason to travel at high speed along the roads we call the national highways, you can get to know this country in detail. You have to take one of the small country roads which go off into the slightest grove or Matthew’s field. Don’t take the county roads, but the town roads, the roads which reflect the town itself. These are the itineraries followed by the kings and queens at home here, the kings who decided the layout itself. They take you to the adventure of the work, cares and concerns of the region itself. »
