Following the piedmont road means choosing the royal way – the road followed by the pilgrims during the Middle Ages, the path the botanists followed during the Enlightenment, the road faced by today’s athletes.
This is the magnificent road up a mountain described and painted a thousand times over … the emblematic profile emerging from a sea of vines.

SAVOURS

Carpentras Strawberries
The strawberry crop in Carpentras got its start in the late 19th century.
The actual title «Fraise de Carpentras» has been a registered trademark since 1987. Fragrant, tasty strawberries from Carpentras are hand-picked and delicately placed in baskets.
They can be found at the markets starting in May.

Berlingots
These gaily-coloured hard candies were invented by a pastry chef in the 19th century, to put the syrup left over from making candied fruits to good use.
Berlingots come in many colours and flavours – anise, orange, coffee, lemon, strawberry …

MARKET

The Carpentras market has been taking place since 1155.
Every Friday morning, the market takes over the streets and squares of the city, infusing the colour, fragrance and activity so characteristic of Provencal markets.
Depending on the season, you’ll find the famous strawberry from Carpentras, the Monts de Venasque cherries, honey, olive oil, truffles, and of course Côtes du Ventoux wines.

In Bedoin, the traditional Provencal market, full of regional specialties, takes place on Monday mornings.
